About the Opportunity
We’re seeking a talented and experienced marketing professional who is creative, collaborative, strategic, knowledgeable, and passionate about the Jewish community for the position of Senior Director, Marketing, Brand & Fundraising. While managing a team of marketers and reporting to the VP, Marketing & Brand Strategy, this role will lead the strategic development and implementation of a winning strategy to market a key set of UJA programs and initiatives throughout the Jewish community.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Direct brand development, brand management and brand research – Lead the development and execution of a branding strategy to drive increased affinity and equity for UJA, ensuring a consistent brand identity and visual representation of the UJA brand across the organization, establish and implement comprehensive baseline and continuous market research initiatives.
- Strategic Leadership – Lead the development of marketing strategies aligned with business unit, oversee the development of compelling narratives that emotionally connect current and prospective donors to UJA’s mission, vision, and impact.
- Storytelling – Guide the development of donor-centric brand campaigns that resonate with target segments and audiences, collaborate with development and fundraising teams to align brand storytelling with donor engagement strategies.
- Process development - Support and take ownership of the development of processes, ensuring audience adherence and effective utilization by guiding teams in consistent implementation.
- Campaign/Project Process - Lead the briefing, development and execution of targeted communication strategies to enhance current and future donor retention and loyalty that showcase UJA’s impact in the community, ensuring establishment of metrics and goals aligned with campaign and event objectives.
- Team Management – Passion for and experience with recruiting talent and building teams, coaching and mentoring marketing professionals, and fostering culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Analytics and Reporting – Utilize data-driven insights to measure campaign effectiveness and ROI and optimize performance. Oversee the development of post-campaign reporting to provide actionable insights to optimize future campaigns.
- Budget Management – Oversee the budget planning process and take full ownership of budget management to ensure budget and resources are tracked and reported on and allocated effectively and utilized efficiently.
- Stakeholder engagement – Collaborate with internal stakeholders, building and nurturing strong trusting relationships ensuring alignment on goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field, or equivalent experience
- 15+ years’ relevant work experience, such as in a marketing agency, corporate or non-profit marketing team, or related professional role
- Previous experience managing and developing talent; passionate about helping people learn and grow
- Keen understanding of the creative process, including the interplay of design, content, digital, and experiential marketing elements
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build rapport with colleagues
- Proactive with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Experience in project management and budgeting
- Effectively presents work, and collects and communicates feedback
- Approaches creative with enthusiasm and passionate about creative excellence
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical capabilities with excellent attention to detail
- Enthusiasm, creativity, innovation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the Jewish community and Jewish-related topics (Judaism, Israel, etc.) considered a strong asset, as is experience as a Jewish community professional
* This is a full-time permanent position. At UJA we support a flexible work schedule and all of our employees engage in hybrid work.
