The Product Manager for Branded Pharmaceuticals is responsible for supporting the development and execution of marketing strategies for assigned products to drive performance, market share, and profitability. This role requires a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical market, including the commercialization process, pricing strategies, and product lifecycle management. The Product Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Commercial Analytics, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs to ensure marketing plans are aligned with corporate goals.
In this role, the Product Manager will contribute to strategic decision-making, manage day-to-day marketing activities, and support the execution of marketing programs that align with market needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategy Execution: Support the development and execution of marketing strategies for assigned product(s), ensuring that messaging is consistent with the product’s clinical profile and aligned with market demands.
- Market Launch Support: Assist in planning and executing new product launches, including developing market segmentation, branding, messaging, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to ensure successful product introduction.
- Life Cycle Management: Assist in managing the product(s) throughout their lifecycle, from market introduction through maturity, ensuring continued optimization of performance, profitability, and competitive positioning.
- Pricing Strategy & Market Access: Collaborate with Market Access to support pricing strategies, optimize reimbursement potential, and manage pricing throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring access and profitability.
- Market Research & Competitive Intelligence: Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and gather customer insights to inform product positioning and recommend adjustments to strategy based on market trends.
- KOL & Physician Engagement: Assist in maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and physician advocates to support brand messaging and clinical differentiation. Help organize advisory boards, speaker programs, and educational symposia.
- Marketing Communications & Promotional Materials: Work with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, digital campaigns, and product websites that align with brand strategy and regulatory guidelines.
- Digital and Multi-Channel Marketing: Support the implementation of digital and multichannel marketing strategies, including social media, email marketing, and online advertising to enhance product visibility and engagement.
- Product Forecasting & Budget Management: Contribute to the creation of sales forecasts and manage marketing budgets, ensuring alignment with financial objectives. Collaborate with finance teams to monitor budget allocation for marketing activities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams such as Analytics, Medical, Regulatory, and Sales to ensure successful product commercialization and timely market delivery.
- Vendor Management: Assist in managing external vendors for marketing research, digital marketing, and promotional activities. Ensure timely project delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Performance Tracking & Adjustments: Monitor product performance metrics, such as sales and market share, and provide recommendations for adjusting marketing plans based on data and market conditions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, a related business discipline, or the Physical Sciences required.
- Minimum 4-7 years of professional marketing experience, ideally within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry required.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and experience managing products such as ANDAs, 505(b)(2)s, or NDAs through their lifecycle nice to have.
- Experience launching and marketing products in a highly regulated environment required.
- Strong analytical skills to draw actionable insights from data and clearly communicate them to leadership required.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and supporting the execution of marketing programs required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with market analysis software (IQVIA) and data reporting required.
- Travel up to 25%.
Compensation Range:
$100,851.00 - $151,276.00
