Under direct supervision of a Senior Director, Global Marketing – Codman Specialty Surgical, CSS, this role will identify and implement a comprehensive Global Ideal Portfolio strategy for our Neuro segment that ensures our future portfolio maximizes commercial competitiveness, optimizes operational performance and enables the Company to meet our global growth goals and expectations. This role also provides a key knowledge base for marketing procedures and actively mentors others in Marketing-related areas.
Leads comprehensive portfolio assessment to develop Global Ideal Portfolio recommendation by conducting sales & profitability analytics, collecting global market insights to inform decision-making, and aligning cross-functional partners
Recommends product line extensions and/or rationalization, forecasting, pricing strategies, manufacturing and customer service/operations support for existing product line(s) which would ultimately build the value of the product line and maximize product line earnings
Determines strategic product line decisions such as priority of product or line enhancements which optimize organizational goals and objectives by evaluating competitors’ products and by determining market share and market trends; keeps others informed by maintaining and distributing competitive comparisons and evaluations
Leads internal and customer communication process enhancements and execution to inform key stakeholders on Ideal Portfolio strategy and optimization
Delivers insights to inform supply resilience and capacity investment and optimization opportunities and align global regulatory registration priorities
Leads internal and customer communication process to inform key stakeholders on strategic direction and drives commercial execution of product transitions and exits as needed
Defines global marketing collateral strategy and priorities to efficiently and effectively support Global Ideal Portfolio with commercial partners
Actively mentors less-experienced group members in Marketing-related areas
Prepares annual budget forecasts for the marketing functions related to the job role
Routinely interfaces with the managers/directors of other product lines offered by the company to fully understand the relationships within the portfolio of products offered by the Company
Monitors forecasts as necessary and works collaboratively with other departments to ensure product availability throughout the lifecycle of the product
Maintains up-to-date product and industry knowledge by regular review of the literature, co-traveling with field sales personnel, attending surgeries, professional society meetings, etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 12+ years of total work experience; master’s degree/MBA preferred; 8+ years' experience in marketing and/or commercial functions within medical device or healthcare-related fields is required.
Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to bring structure and process to vaguely defined problems is required.
Strong project management, written communications, verbal, and presentation skills are required.
Must be highly collaborative, with a proven ability to lead, operate and influence cross-functionally and to influence without authority.
Demonstrated experience with market research methodologies with healthcare stakeholders, including Voice of Customer interviews and outcomes-driven-innovation is strongly preferred.
Prior global and/or international experience preferred.
Experience with Neurosurgical or related products in a hospital surgical setting preferred.
Medical device or pharmaceutical sales experience preferred
Average travel requirement is approximately 30%
Performs other duties as required
