Graphite is modern code review for fast-moving teams - we help engineers write better pull requests, review and leave more actionable feedback on code changes, stay unblocked, and ship faster.

We started Graphite because we miss internal code review tools like Phabricator (at Facebook) and Critique (at Google) that help engineers create, approve, and ship incremental changes. We want to make well-designed, high-quality developer tooling accessible to everyone.

Our company

We’re a small-but-mighty team of 26 based in Manhattan in the heart of Soho, with a passionate and rapidly growing group of users at top engineering orgs like Perplexity, Browser Co, Datadog, Bolt, Brex, Ramp, and Snowflake.

We raised a $20m Series A (featured in TechCrunch) led by Peter Levine at Andreessen Horowitz (who led GitHub's Series A), with participation from folks like Tom Preston-Werner (founder of GitHub), Sam Lambert (Planetscale CEO & ex-GitHub CTO), Sebastian Markbåge (creator of React), and many more.

About the role

Graphite is growing rapidly, we're looking for a brand designer to establish and maintain the visual identity systems for Graphite and any sub-brands. This includes defining our brand personality, create guidelines and templates, and experiment with ways we can adapt and evolve our identity system over time.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate closely with founders to understand the company mission and vision
• Help establish and evolve our brand personality for the core Graphite brand as well as any sub brands we may introduce
• Define and develop visual brand system, including typography, color palettes, visual elements (shapes, icons, patterns, effects, etc)
• Create and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all platforms and materials
• Design marketing materials, social media content, and presentation decks
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure brand consistency in our digital products
• Lead the art direction for company campaigns and initiatives including marketing campaigns, social media, video productions, etc.
• Collaborate with our design engineers to design website assets and help shape our digital presence

Requirements: What we’re looking for

• 3+ years of professional brand design related experience
• A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, creativity, adaptability, sense of style, brand personality, and an eye for detail
• Proven experience developing innovative, scalable brand systems
• Expert experience in creative tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma)
  
  • Bonus for experience in video, motion, and 3D
• Strong graphic design and creative direction abilities
• Ability to translate ambiguous user needs to concrete requirements and turn them into comprehensive design specs
• Strong understanding of technical requirements for different formats (web, print, video, etc)

Nice to haves

• Experience designing for SaaS, enterprise, devtools, or productivity tools
• Experience working in early-stage startups
• Experience creating a new brand (either branding for new company, or a re-brand)
• Experience with web development
