General Summary


The Associate Director of Athletics for Branding & Strategic Initiatives proactively grows the WT brand and revenue with in our ticketed sports programs. This position is responsible for devising and executing strategies to drive ticket sales, increase annual giving, improve licensing royalties and manage the overall brand of WT athletics.



Responsibilities:


Oversee the overall branding and licensing program of the athletics department


  •    Brand Development:
    •  Develop brand strategies that enhance team visibility and align with organizational goals, to increase market presence.
    • Analyze brand perception and identify opportunities for growth and differentiation within the competitive landscape.
    • Manage brand messaging across all platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with the overall marketing strategy.
    • Collaborate with marketing team to design and implement promotional materials, merchandise, and advertising campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
    •  Develop guidelines for brand usage to maintain integrity and consistency across all communications and marketing efforts.


Oversee the Buffalo Club annual giving program.


  •   Donor Relations:
    • Engage in community outreach efforts to promote the organization’s mission and build relationships with potential donor prospects.
    • Conduct outreach to potential donors, presenting opportunities for sponsorship and partnership that align with organizational goals.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic organizations to support fundraising initiatives.
    •  Develop tailored communication strategies to engage donors and keep them informed about the impact of their contributions on sports programs and initiatives.
    • Liaison with university foundation and assist in developing athletic alumni solicitations.


Supervision of ticket operation, community outreach and hospitality.


  • Oversee tickets revenue, suites, club spaces, sales efforts
    • Ability to effectively develop, implement and execute sales plans, while elevating the fan experience
    • Develop and manage a data collection program for prospective customers


Direct collaboration with marketing, game operations, digital marketing and corporate partnerships.


  • Marketing:
    • Organize special events, including fan festivals and promotional appearances, to increase community engagement.
    • Coordinate sponsorship activation efforts, ensuring partners receive maximum exposure and engagement during events.
    • Manage in-game fan activities and promotions to enhance the overall game-day experience and engagement levels.

Necessary Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two (2) years of experience working with NCAA programs or professional teams including Brand Development, Donor Relations, supervisory experience, and marketing
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record;
  • Must be able to obtain a State of Texas vehicle operator's license within 30 days of employment;
  • Must qualify to operate a vehicle within the TAMUS guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain TAMUS approval.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and databased applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master’s degree
  • Six (6) years of experience working with NCAA programs or professional teams
  • Knowledge of NCAA regulations
